Make an eco-friendly splash

Over the years, Cas Gasi has become renowned for finding new ways to incorporate innovative, ecological systems into the daily running of the hotel. The protection of the environment has always been of great concern to owners Margaret and Luis, and likewise for their environmentally conscious and well-travelled guests, which is why you won’t find any harsh chemicals used in the beautiful hotel swimming pools.

The swimming pools are cleaned with special salt components, that don’t in any way make the water salty, but rather, create an organic reaction that cleans the water in a similar way to chlorine – but completely natural without the negative effects.

In 2014, the couple made the commitment to go the whole ecological way by installing specialised solar panels that mean even in the cooler months the water becomes a few degrees warmer thanks to the power of the glorious Ibiza sunshine. Long lazy dips won’t ever damage the skin or hair due to this natural cleaning process (though of course, sunscreen is definitely recommended for the skin!). The system is a closed circuit and not only helps protect the local environment but also saves precious water.

Kids may not be as conscious when it comes to sustainability, but they do indeed know all about having fun in the sun, which is why the children’s pool at Cas Gasi was designed for kids to play to their hearts content without disturbing the tranquility that other guests so embrace. Little guests love the opportunity to reign over their own piece of paradise – while grown-ups relish the chance to breathe and relax in peace – and combined with the large and fenced gardens there is a whole lot of exploring to be done.
