Our favourite Ibiza beaches
Not a day goes by during summer at Cas Gasi, where the owners and staff are not asked for personal recommendations on the best Ibiza beaches. After all, who better to ask than a local?
Ibiza’s most iconic beach, Las Salinas, is always a favourite, however Cas Gasi owners Margaret and Luis prefer to arrive at around 8am, before the beach is in full swing and when you can enjoy the true tranquillity and beauty of the area, before the sunbeds pepper the sand and tourists are traipsing through the crystal clear waters. “You watch the beach come alive,” says Margaret. “It’s like a behind the scenes view.”
In the same area, the couple love to frequent neighbouring beach Es Cavallet, enjoying the beautiful walking trails that connect the two beaches and the unspoilt nature of the sand dunes and salt flats in between. Whether you choose to drive, jog, walk with your dog or your friends, the experience is a very authentic Ibiza moment. While on Es Cavallet, Margaret recommends stopping in at beautiful beach restaurant El Chiringuito for a slice of cheesecake – the best on the island!
A more off-the-beaten track suggestion is a beach only accessible by foot on the island’s south coast, Cala Llentrisca. Park your car at the church in Es Cubells or the restaurant Ses Boques, just a little further down the bumpy dirt trail, then you need to walk through the luxury urbanisation to reach the secluded cove, which has a couple of fishermen’s huts on shore, but very few boats moored in the sea, due to the rocky nature of the sea floor below. “Here you feel as though you are on a lost island,” says Margaret. “It’s still one of my secrets, as many people won’t find it!”
