The Balearic Islands are loved by Brits for all kinds of reasons – not least the opportunity they provide for smug, sun-soaked Instagram stories – but the holy grail for hedonists is undoubtedly Ibiza, AKA the White Isle. Fortunately for the 5am crowd, there are countless luxury hotels in Ibiza to soothe sore heads at.

Because it isn’t all about burning the candle at both ends. Away from the San Antonio strip, the island is also famed for its sunset rituals, breezy beach clubs and general good vibes (something to do with magnetism, apparently). Stroll cobbled streets in the old town, or visit the quieter villages such as Santa Gertrudis, Ibiza’s answer to Notting Hill, and naturally now with fashionable bars and restaurants (check out Bottega Il Buco.)

For something on the more traditional side, rural Cas Gasi is the peaceful, celebrity-packed hotel for you.

Cas Gasi, on Ibiza’s northern coast, is an agriturismo close to Santa Gertrudis that celebrities want to keep to themselves (Kate Moss is a fan). It’s set on an olive grove, with rooms in the original house and secluded suites spread out across the grounds. The artfully mismatched decor spans splashes of colour on outdoor chairs and railings, grandfather clocks and chandeliers, and original beams and fireplaces.

It’s a 30-minute drive from the airport, and the middle-of-the-island setting makes it just about perfect for anywhere you could possibly want to go. Along with the hundreds of olive trees, the estate has almond, fig and orange orchards, and organic vegetable plots – with electric bicycles to borrow and explore it all on.
